The Awards night will be back!
After a hugely successful first-ever event last year with 180 people attending, the Young Photographer Awards will return in December 2026.
The inaugural awards celebrated young creative talent aged 7 to 18 from across Aotearoa. It brought together children, families, photographers, and supporters for a night full of pride, excitement, and genuine connection. For many young photographers, it was the first time their work had ever been publicly exhibited or recognised.
Throughout the year, our workshops will continue to introduce hundreds of young people to photography as a way to express themselves, slow down, and see the world differently. Many will start with no experience at all. Some will discover a new passion. Others will find confidence, focus, or a creative outlet that really sticks. Our workshops remain fully inclusive and supportive of different learning needs.
The 2026 Awards will once again will showcase photographs created by students who have taken part in our workshops. Selected young photographers will receive awards recognising their creativity, effort, and unique way of seeing.
